Following the phenomenal success of One Strange Rock Season 1, it has been announced that National Geographic have commissioned a second season.
“The tremendous success of One Strange Rock is a testament to the power of innovative storytelling and an exceptional creative team. With the creative vision of Darren Aronofsky and the expertise of Jane Root and Nutopia, One Strange Rock stretches the traditional boundaries of science and natural history programming. It takes viewers on a breathtaking visual adventure that not only entertains, but also amazes and surprises.”
Courteney Monroe, CEO of National Geographic Global Networks.
Will Smith has ben lined up to continue his role as shots of the science series. It is not known when the new series will air.
So… the series shows the status as ended. Is that true? Or are we still getting the second season?
Welcome to Earth also hosted by Will Smith and executive produced by Darren Aronofksy is the closest thing to a second season with more jaw dropping visuals of Earth. Although content wise it is very different as it doesn’t have the astronauts and is more like a Will Smith travelogue.
